February 1998, the Forum initiated charity fundraising activities
via a "Gala Ball" at the Peninsula hotel. Guests included
HKSAR Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa and dozens of senior aerospace
executives en route to Asian Aerospace in Singapore. Charity fundraising
initiatives have raised in excess of US$200,000 in 2000/2001. Generous
aerospace memorabilia and flight experiences have been donated by
Boeing, BAE SYSTEMS, Airbus, Rolls Royce, GE, Embraer, Saab, Shorts,
Gulfstream and Virgin Atlantic. Auctions have been organised at
the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens, the eyeBALL, and on the Internet courtesy
of yahoo.asia. Receptions promoting the Aerospace Auction were also
held during the Farnborough and Paris Air Shows.
